- Ignacio Canales Aracil is a Spanish artist. He only uses pressed flowers to make the art. This kind of art dates back thousands of years. Aracil relies on a large cone shaped mold that he puts the patches of woven flower stems on. He leaves them to dry for about a month and then sprays them with a varnish just to protect from moisture. If any weight is added they will be crushed but are strong enough to stand without help. Aracil currently works with a group at the Lucia Mendoza gallery in Madrid.

I am inspired by the way that he takes the flowers that are already beautiful and creates more beauty with them. Also I was inspired by the fact that I didn't know something like this was possible to create and it makes me wonder what else is out there. I was drawn in by the fact that at first I thought it was just a drawing but then when I looked carefully it was like a sculpture of the flowers.
