Styrogami
I learned that Styrofoam cups can actually be used to make art. Before this lesson I didn't know that people actually made art out of them. I learned that cutting the cups to get a straight line is difficult because of the way that Styrofoam is. Also I learned that using just regular white glue to try and glue pieces together doesn't work well because the glue doesn't keep the pieces together. Any one who does this style often most have a lot of patience to get the lines perfect so I have respect now for their Styrofoam pieces. I think the piece is successful because I didn't just cut pieces away, I glued them back on to parts of the cup. If I were to do this again I would come up with what I wanted to do before I started cutting and I would try to make the shapes that I cut out have straighter outlines.

Land Art
I learned that it's actually pretty easy to find things in nature that you can use to make other images. I kinda like how you make the piece of art take a picture and just walk away and over time it just goes away. The artist must really like what they do to take time to make a piece in this style and know that it probably won't be there in a week. I think this piece is successful because we made it look like their were more than one flower and they were getting blown away by the wind. I might consider making it a series of pictures, starting with all the flowers and ending with the pieces that made up the flowers.

Clay Fish/Animal
I learned that working with clay you have to make sure that you don't make some of the parts to thin and that you also have to create places for the air to get out when the piece is fired. Also I learned that you have to use a technique were you scrap the two pieces of clay before putting them together and smoothing it over so that they won't fall off when the piece is dried and fired. This piece is successful because I wanted it to look similar to Dory from Finding Nemo and I think that I accomplished that. Also I think it's successful because of the way I got the tail to go from one shade of yellow to another. If I was to do this again I would change the shape of the head to make it a little bit bigger to make it more of the shape of Dory. Also I won't make it as thick in the front because when you look at it from the front it looks kinda fat and creepy looking.
